Dr. Spencer is a native of Austin. Following graduation from Westlake
High School in 1988, she went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Biology
at The University of Texas at Austin in 1992. Dr. Spencer then embarked
on her medical career earning her Medical Doctorate at The University
of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1996. She completed
her pediatric internship and residency at the UTHSCSA. Dr. Spencer
received Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in 1999.
Subsequently, Dr Spencer accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Pediatric Nephrology at UTHSCSA
caring for children with a variety of kidney diseases. Over the next two years, she managed children on dialysis
as well as during and after renal transplantation. In addition, Dr Spencer served as attending physician in general
pediatrics, instructing residents and medical students on the general ward service as well as in the pediatric and
neonatal intensive care units.
Dr Spencer had been working as a general pediatrician in the Northwest Austin area for eight years before opening
her own practice in 2007.
Dr Spencer's husband, Cliff, left his career in order to stay home to care for their two wonderful and energetic sons
and their new baby daughter. Together they are busy coaching youth soccer and volunteering at their children's schools.
